The eye-catching stopper on the 42cm high "Feathers" carafe from Daum is made from so-called "crystal glass paste". Crystal-glass paste is made of a complex blend of granular crystal and lead. The mixture melts like wax in the hands of the skilled glass artists, who then transform the mass into exceptional shapes which display a wonderful interplay of colours and contours that flow into one another. Little air bubbles captured in the glass are visible proof of this special manufacturing process from Daum.
The plain carafe provides the perfect counterpart to the radiant feather (plume in French). The blue feather looks extraordinarily light and natural and is what gives the carafe such an original appearance. Such magical creations can only be developed because Daum manufactures its glass objects completely by hand and ensures that they are of the highest quality. Each "Feathers" carafe from Daum is thus one of a kind.
