With his "Elisabeth" vase, René Lalique has once again managed to capture natural subjects with perfection. The vase’s broad, open bowl is seated on a clear crystal-glass pedestal and is decorated with satin-finished shapes of birds and leaves. Lalique has sculpted them into the glass of this "Elisabeth" vase so masterfully that they appear almost as if they were alive.
Each bird presents a different appearance; each leaf seems quite individual — exactly as you would expect to find them in nature. This life-like authenticity gives the "Elisabeth" vase from Lalique a lightness which conveys a feeling of springtime and cheerfulness. The vase, of the finest crystal glass, is made in France and is produced and cut by hand.
