"Bark" vases by Michael Aram

Inspired by nature's beauty: birch trees were what prompted the idea for the "Bark" vases by Michael Aram of polished aluminium. The highlight of these botanic beauties is their deceptively real surface structure with the small perforations on the upper rim. They are intended for dried or flowering sprigs, which then - true to life - appear to sprout from the trunk.

The "Bark" vases belong to Michael Aram's collection, an American accessory and furniture designer, who has been living in India since 1989. There he creates his decorative art objects using an age-old metalworking tradition.

All Michael Aram items are completely handmade. Variations or 'imperfections' in the product's finish are characteristic of the creation process. Due to this handmade nature, no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
