  • Murano glass, metal, completely handcrafted
Each vase is a unique collector's item
The mouthblown "Where are my Glasses?" vases by Venini are an extraordinary project by the ingenious artist and designer Ron Arad. In an uncommon way Ron Arad combines metal and glass. The glass is not held as usual in form of spectacle lenses in the metal frame, but seems to make itself independent and to escape the constraints of metal. The metal frame behaves like a too tight belt. The glass yields and deforms into an unusual sculptural glass object.

Following great talents like Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass, Carlo Scarpa, Gae Aulenti, Gaetano Pesce, and many others to mention just a few, the name Ron Arad joins the prestigious list of artists who collaborated with Venini.

Since 1921, the glass manufacturer Venini has been located on Murano, an island renowned for its glass expertise. Besides the traditional techniques, the famous Italian glass manufacturer also uses new materials and manufacturing methods. The handicraft method makes each and every vase completely unique.

Please note: Due to the craftsmanship, each vase is truely unique. Variations in the shape of the vase and position of the glasses are possible and a sign of the unique manufacturing process. That is what turns each "Where are my Glasses?" vase into a unique collector's item.
