"Malmaison" trays without handles by Christofle

About this product range

Buy products below
The silverplated "Malmaison" tray without handles from Christofle guarantees elegant presentation whatever the occasion: whether it is carrying the menu, the dessert or a crowd of champagne flutes. The design of the "Malmaison" collection is based on the French Empire Style of the early 19th century which itself drew its inspiration from shapes and motifs from the ancient world. This is the reason for the typical Empire-style, palm- and lotus-leaf pattern around the rim of this "Malmaison" tray without handles.

In translation the word "Malmaison" means bad house. However, this series from the Parisian silversmith Christofle has nothing at all to do with an ailing household. In fact, the name "Malmaison" is taken from the title of the former country house of Napoleon Bonaparte and his first wife Joséphine de Beauharnais.
