Opulence in Balance – Alberto Pinto's Art of Living

With the eye of a native cosmopolitan. Alberto Pinto was born in Morocco in 1943, studied at the Ecole du Louvre in Paris, and began his career as a lifestyle photographer in New York City, which he continued in Mexico, Italy, England, and India. At the end of the 1960s, Pinto established his interior design studio in Paris and for decades has delighted an international clientele with his virtuoso ability to combine an opulent variety of influences into cosy ensembles.

In addition to elements from all cultures and eras, Pinto combined selected antiques with his own creations designed in collaboration with the greatest experts in their respective fields. A lover of the arts of the table and a passionate host, Pinto designed new dinnerware patterns for almost every major project.

Convinced of the excellence of traditional French craftsmanship, Studio Pinto has always favoured the brilliant white porcelain of Limoges for its dinnerware collections. Depending on the patterns, the dinnerware pieces are printed using a high-quality chromolithography process or entirely hand-painted.

Art for the Table – Tableware from the Pinto Paris Studio

From classic to modern, from floral motifs and chinoiserie to abstract compositions of form and colour. The diversity of Alberto Pinto's styles knows no bounds. Discover the eclectic universe of Pinto porcelain tableware at Artedona, from reproductions of legendary special designs to new studio creations in the authentic Pinto style.

An indispensable Pinto classic is the Les Champignons dinner service. The classically scalloped plates are hand-painted with lifelike mushroom motifs that evoke a warm and cosy forest romance. Timelessly elegant, the set of dinner plates lends itself to uniquely charming, autumnal tablescapes.

Asian-inspired patterns are an integral part of European porcelain craftsmanship. Pinto reinterprets the classic motifs in its own way in several collections. The Chinoiserie collection combines pastoral motifs with burgundy elements and elegant gold applications. Vieux Kyoto, on the other hand, pays homage to Japan with traditional landscape motifs in the style of ink painting in gold and black. The Envol collection draws on another genre of chinoiserie to decorate white Limoges porcelain with stylised bird motifs in gold and green.

The Jaipur collection draws from the time Alberto Pinto spent in India. Printed with Indian-inspired ornaments, the pattern exudes an elegant solemnity in the Indian style. With its different colour variations such as blue and pink, the collection invites you to mix and match your own mesmerising colour compositions.

The Menta dinner service is an excellent choice for table settings in the mid-century modern style. With its minimalist design language of circles and cut-off squares, the pattern is reminiscent of paintings by modern artists such as Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Miro. Six different patterns per plate shape can be combined to create stylish tablescapes where no two place settings are alike. Generous, colourful, cosmopolitan – a service full of personality in the unmistakable Pinto style.
