Opposites attract. Just like the city of Berlin itself, the award-winning "Berlin" porcelain series from KPM, short for "Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin", unifies contradictions into an exciting symbiosis of extraordinary beauty. Discover the unique balance of convex and concave, simple and beautiful, form and function, Italian design and German craftsmanship.

Curvy Objectivity – The KPM Berlin Collection by Enzio Mari

Berlin meets Milan. In 1996, the internationally renowned designer Enzio Mari developed the "Berlin" collection in collaboration with the KPM design team. With his flair for simplicity, clarity, and utility, the Italian master designer created a modern milestone in the art of porcelain.

Curvy yet straightforward, the shapes of the "Berlin" collection are characterised by sweeping lines through and through. From the upward curving rims of the plates to the spherical teapot with its "upturned" handle, curves define the silhouettes of the porcelain series. The white surfaces and clear shapes of the pure porcelain serve as a counterpoint and bring "Berlin" into a graceful balance. The ingenious design won the iF Design Award in 1998 and has been one of KPM's most popular dinnerware collections ever since.

As Diverse as Berlin - KPM Berlin at a Glance

The Berlin white dinner service is the centrepiece of the "Berlin" collection. The varied dinnerware pieces are multifunctional and can be harmoniously combined with other KPM patterns. Made by hand in Germany, the porcelain pieces are robust, dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe, making them ideal for everyday use.

The Berlin Canto dinner service enhances the graphic expressiveness of the original service with an ingeniously simple décor. Fine, hand-drawn black lines trace the contours of the dinnerware pieces. Like drawings in a comic book, the lines emphasise the white surfaces and elegant silhouettes of the porcelain.

As dazzling as the city of Berlin. The Colours of Berlin breakfast cups dress the table in the colours of the German capital. In an innovative manufacturing process, the craftsmen at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory spray the cups with a special lustre paint. After the firing in the kiln, the iconic cups shine with an irresistible iridescence. Each colour in the collection symbolises a different district of Berlin, from Charlottenburg to Zehlendorf.
