A fresh take on classic modernism. The "Augusta" dinner service by Bernardaud transforms the most popular stylistic elements of Art Deco into a dazzling design of timeless beauty.
Like an antique mosaic, the decor of the collection is made up of small tiles that follow a golden grid. Cleverly placed surfaces in light green, emerald green and black form geometric patterns that could just as easily originate from a Roman villa as from a New York skyscraper of the early 20th century. Classicism meets cubism – an original mix of styles that knows how to impress with its precise execution.
The name of the "Augusta" collection alludes to the ancient name of the city of Limoges in the Roman Empire, Augustoritum. The ingenious design can be perfectly combined with fine gold and silver accessories.
Bernardaud is the beating heart of Limoges, the centre of French porcelain craftsmanship. A pioneer of its art, the manufactory combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies to create ever new innovations. Cleaning:
You can clean your porcelain by hand using a soft sponge and mild dishwashing liquid. However, be careful not to use the abrasive side of the sponge, as it may scratch or damage the surface of the decorations, especially gold or platinum.
Your porcelain is also perfectly safe for the dishwasher. Choose a low-temperature cycle and do not exceed the recommended amount of detergent. If you do not wash the porcelain immediately (by hand or in the dishwasher), we recommend rinsing it with warm water. Make sure that the pieces do not touch each other in the dishwasher.
Microwave:
Pieces without gold, silver, or platinum decoration: microwave safe.
Pieces with gold, silver, or platinum decoration: not suitable for the microwave, as Bernardaud uses a high percentage of precious metals in these designs.
