With their thin, translucent walls, the handmade porcelain vases perfectly capture the lightness and elegance of the City of Lights. Glazed only from the inside, the exteriors of the vases retain the velvety matt texture of fine bisque porcelain, while being stain-resistant and easy to care for.

The highlight of the vases, however, is the silverplated base on which they are enthroned. Made in the laborious lost-wax process, its intricate braid décor amazes with deep reliefs and smooth curves. After silver-plating, it receives a hand-applied patina that further emphasises its intricate details and the contrast between porcelain and silver. The base can be easily removed for uncomplicated cleaning.

The "Babylone" collection was designed for Christofle by Miss Aurélie Bidermann. With her refined and imaginative jewellery collections, the independent designer has been a reference in the French jewellery world since 2003. Together with the silversmith Christofle, she translates the lifestyle of the Rue de Babylone, address of artists and thinkers in the famous 7th arrondissement of Paris, into modern living and table culture. The leitmotif of the collection is her favourite symbol, the braid, combined with classic and minimalist elements.
