The "Urbino" porcelain dinner service from KPM was designed originally by Trude Petri in 1930-32. "New objectiveness" was the demand of the Deutsches Werksbund (German Word Federation), a German association of artists, architects, designers and industrialists, as well as the famous Bauhaus art school at the beginning of the last century.
Now this classic design is also available in many different colours. "Urbino Multicolore" can be combined in a wide variety of original ways.
A traditional "dabbing" technique is used to decorate each piece – be it dark purple, iron red or lemon yellow – and provides an elegant colour accent. The design’s sophisticated pragmatism is refined with an elegant 24-carat gold line on the rim and handle.
