With the No. 267 “Alpha” glassware series, Hans Harald Rath created an enduring expression of post-war modernism for the Viennese house of Lobmeyr. Originally conceived in 1952 for the “young household”, its softly rounded forms bring together the functional clarity of the era with the quiet poetry of traditional glassmaking. Despite its delicate appearance, the exceptionally fine, mouth-blown muslin glass is surprisingly robust and perfectly suited to everyday use. In this coloured edition, the water tumblers glow in six and the water jugs in three delicate, watercolour-like shades.

Hand washing with a small amount of dishwashing detergent and warm water is recommended. Rinse thoroughly afterwards to ensure that no soap residue remains.

Care should be taken when drying due to the delicate material. Under no circumstances should the tea towel be stuffed into the chalice; despite its elasticity, this can cause breakage. Glasses decorated with enamel paint should not be cleaned in the dishwasher.

If using a dishwasher, select a special glass program and the recommended amount of detergent. Ensure that the items do not touch each other and that steam can escape after the program has finished.
