Museum-worthy minimalism. The "No. 1003" carafe with stopper captures the restrained design language of the Viennese house of Lobmeyr in its purest form. The accompanying glassware series attracted particular attention in 1949, when it was included in a major Lobmeyr exhibition at MoMA in New York as a striking example of the house’s design ethos. Its inclusion was all the more remarkable because the series was not designed by one of Lobmeyr's more familiar collaborators, such as Josef Hoffmann, Oswald Haerdtl or Adolf Loos, but by the young Czech glass artist Věra Lišková, who had created it only a year earlier. To mark the 200th anniversary of J. & L. Lobmeyr, the service was later reissued.
Made from ultra-thin muslin glass, the softly rounded carafe draws its elegance from the deliberate absence of decorative detail. Its clear silhouette places the focus on the fine, lead-free crystal and its light, almost weightless presence. Those familiar with Lobmeyr may also notice the series’ unusual four-digit number, a quiet trace of its moment in history: it belongs to a brief post-war period in which Lobmeyr temporarily adopted a new numbering system before returning to its familiar three-digit designations.
Since 1823, Lobmeyr has been synonymous with glass of exceptional refinement and cultural significance. Still family-run in its sixth generation, the Viennese house has played a lasting role in shaping European design. Its ultra-thin, lead-free crystal combines remarkable lightness with impressive durability. Working in close collaboration with internationally renowned designers, Lobmeyr continues to create enduring pieces that unite heritage and contemporary design with effortless elegance.

Hand washing with a small amount of dishwashing detergent and warm water is recommended. Rinse thoroughly afterwards to ensure that no soap residue remains.
Care should be taken when drying due to the delicate material. Under no circumstances should the tea towel be stuffed into the chalice; despite its elasticity, this can cause breakage. Glasses decorated with enamel paint should not be cleaned in the dishwasher.
If using a dishwasher, select a special glass program and the recommended amount of detergent. Ensure that the items do not touch each other and that steam can escape after the program has finished.
Store containers uncovered (without lid or stopper).
