A table set with stars. The "Rothschild Stars" glass series No. 4 stands among Lobmeyr’s most distinguished and enduring glassware collections. Designed in 1856 by Ludwig Lobmeyr, the No. 4 series marked a departure from the opulence of Historicism, embracing a clear and refined formal language. So forward-thinking was its design that the wine glass is widely regarded as the precursor to the modern wine glass. Commissioned in 1875 by Baron Alphonse Rothschild, the signature star motif introduces an additional layer of craftsmanship to this pioneering collection. Each delicate star is hand-engraved into the exceptionally fine, mouth-blown muslin glass, lending the series a subtle, poetic radiance that feels both deeply rooted in history and captivatingly timeless.

Hand washing with a small amount of dishwashing detergent and warm water is recommended. Rinse thoroughly afterwards to ensure that no soap residue remains.
Care should be taken when drying due to the delicate material. Under no circumstances should the tea towel be stuffed into the chalice; despite its elasticity, this can cause breakage. Glasses decorated with enamel paint should not be cleaned in the dishwasher.
If using a dishwasher, select a special glass program and the recommended amount of detergent. Ensure that the items do not touch each other and that steam can escape after the program has finished.
