Because good design lasts forever. The "Apem" tumblers by Venini are a re-edition of a design by Gio Ponti from 1946. Venini presented the collection in 1947 to a global audience at the Triennale di Milano to bring Italian craftsmanship to international fame. With this re-edition, Venini honours the cultural heritage of the legendary architect and designer, which continues to fascinate and inspire.
The design of the "Apem" tumblers is a carefully calibrated combination of colour and shape. The glasses have a slight narrowing in the centre, reminiscent of a waist or an hourglass. Their bases are made of coloured glass, which is endlessly reflected in the crystal-clear Murano glass. The set of six tumblers contains the colours grey, apple green, amber, red, purple, and sapphire blue. As each piece is mouth-blown, every glass is a little different and demonstrates the skills of Venini's glassblowers.
The Venini glass manufactory has been creating artistic and functional Murano glass objects since 1921. The sophisticated designs and high levels of craftsmanship have inspired a global audience for generations. Made purely by hand on the island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon, each Venini glass object is a unique expression of Italian excellence.
