About Jasper Conran for Wedgwood
Since 2001, British fashion guru Jasper Conran has designed two new dinnerware shapes for Wedgwood, and the excellent cooperation has resulted in more than a dozen stunning decors, such as for example the platinum-edged "Kilim", which is inspired by the Ikat weaving patterns seen on saris and rugs.
Jasper Conran is one of Britain’s most well-known designers. In 1978, at the age of 19, he started his career in haute couture and built a whole design empire. Today he creates fashion products for men, women and children, including eyewear, handbags, furniture, luggage and perfumes as well as costumes for the theatre and ballet – and last but not least his superb dinnerware for Wedgwood. In 2008, the Queen crowned Jasper Conran’s success by appointing him an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire).
With his original Wedgwood creations, such as the “Chinoiserie” with green birds or “Jasper Conran – Pin Stripe” with stripes in blue or platinum, he creates modern classics which look good anywhere. His more sedate lines use Wedgwood’s delicate fine bone china while the more rustic dinnerware such as "Jasper Conran - Casual" are made of the famous Wedgwood earthenware.
