"Vieux Kyoto", the partially handpainted Limoges porcelain is a design by Alberto Pinto and reflects the French star designer's love for traditional art in Japan. In Kyoto, possibly Japan's most important city from a historical and cultural point of view, there are still over 1,600 Buddhist temples, 400 Shinto shrines and innumerable palaces and gardens to admire.
Symbolizing the Japan of old, one of the royal palaces decorates the dinner service. Next to it, silhouettes of trees also decorate the porcelain. On the one hand, this design seems as light as a Japanese ink drawing, on the other the combination of dark brown and gold seems to communicate conviviality with classic poetry and luxury glamour.
