To mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of the French porcelain manufacturer Bernardaud it has brought out this tongue-in-cheek collection entitled "Je te mangerais dans la main" (French for "you have me eating out of your hand"). Appropriately, the plates and the centrepiece are decorated with images of hands and were designed by French artists Prune Nourry & JR.
JR is a French photographer and street artist. He became famous for his photographs of unknown people, which he placed in momumental sizes on the fronts of houses, container ships or border walls. His projects tell stories that are socially critical and change our view of the world.
The upper side of each plate shows the inner sides of a pair of hands held to form the shape of a bowl. The underside of the plates in turn shows the backs of the hands. But not everyone sitting at the table has to eat out of the same pair of hands: The set "Je te mangerais dans la main" from Bernardaud is made up of six different motifs. In some the hands are large and powerful and in others they are gentle and delicate.
With a length of 80 cm, the limited edition centrepiece is extremely long and, to cover this length, shows not only hands but also the lower arms as well.

Cleaning:
You can clean your porcelain by hand using a soft sponge and mild dishwashing liquid. However, be careful not to use the abrasive side of the sponge, as it may scratch or damage the surface of the decorations, especially gold or platinum.
Your porcelain is also perfectly safe for the dishwasher. Choose a low-temperature cycle and do not exceed the recommended amount of detergent. If you do not wash the porcelain immediately (by hand or in the dishwasher), we recommend rinsing it with warm water. Make sure that the pieces do not touch each other in the dishwasher.
Microwave:
Pieces without gold, silver, or platinum decoration: microwave safe.
Pieces with gold, silver, or platinum decoration: not suitable for the microwave, as Bernardaud uses a high percentage of precious metals in these designs.
