With its two designs "Ecaille" and "Carpe", Herend’s "Polka" tableware unites Fresian and Asian porcelain cultures in a very modern way. The porcelain plates, cups and bowls are decorated with graphic designs reminiscent of fish-scale patterns or paintings of koi carp in deep Fresian blue.
Each element of the "Polka" services by Herend is different from the others. This leads to the dinner table set for a meal being a very lively composition. This unique graphic concept was designed by the Polka Studios in Vienna and the service has been produced and hand painted to the highest quality standards by Herend, the oldest porcelain manufacturer in Hungary. Quite rightly, the "Polka" porcelain service received the "Design Plus Award 2013".
