Alif Blue by Hering Berlin

An exotic journey to the caliph’s banquet: that is the impression conjured up by "Alif", the Oriental line from Hering Berlin. "Alif" has three different designs – "Alif Blue", "Alif blue-green" and "Alif Gold" – which can be combined in wonderfully different ways.

All three dinner services bring together finely polished bisque porcelain and Oriental ornaments in gold and cobalt blue. The design for "Alif" is the brainchild of the company founder Stefanie Hering and has very symbolic features. "Alif Blue" and "Alif Gold" are distinguished by their fine Paisley pattern. This droplet-shaped motif is used by some cultures as a protective charm. "Alif Blue-Green" shows a labyrinth that is also supposed to ward off evil. In the centre of the labyrinth there is a symbol of eternal, unconditional love – the Dianthus.

Each piece from the "Alif" porcelain series from Hering Berlin is unique and handcrafted from start to finish. It can also be combined with the "Velvet" or "Pulse" lines from Hering Berlin. We are happy to assist you in your choice.

Cleaning:
Bisque porcelain is dishwasher safe. Remove stubborn residue by soaking in soapy water and cleaning with the scouring pad of a sponge. Use abrasive cleaners only on unglazed surfaces.

For bisque porcelain with precious metal decoration hand washing is recommended, but some decorations are suitable for the dishwasher. Use a soft sponge and mild detergent, not the abrasive side. When using a dishwasher, select a low-temperature program and the recommended amount of detergent. Ensure that the pieces do not touch each other and that steam can escape after the program has finished.

Avoid temperature shocks. To avoid friction when stacking, we recommend using intermediate layers (e.g. "Artedona" plate dividers).

Microwave:
Pieces without gold, silver or platinum decoration: microwave safe.
Pieces with gold, silver or platinum decoration: not suitable for microwave use due to high precious metal content.
