Intense black meets matte white: The rims of the "Obsidian" plates are made of smoothed silky matt, unglazed bisque porcelain and form a pleasant contrast to the iridescent black color glaze inside the plates. The lively high-fire glaze alternates in beautiful black color shades.
The black colored glazes that cover the surfaces of the plates are a special development by Hering Berlin, for which Stefanie Hering spent months experimenting with specialized craftsmen. They are poured out by hand, run a little differently on each object and also deposit in always slightly different opaque and transparent layers on the porcelain surface. The sophisticated glaze creates new color facets every time - from almost translucent grey to impenetrable black.
Each piece is unique and is produced by hand in the Hering Berlin manufacture in Germany. At the same time, they are easy to clean and can be combined in many ways.

Cleaning:
Bisque porcelain is dishwasher safe. Remove stubborn residue by soaking in soapy water and cleaning with the scouring pad of a sponge. Use abrasive cleaners only on unglazed surfaces.
For bisque porcelain with precious metal decoration hand washing is recommended, but some decorations are suitable for the dishwasher. Use a soft sponge and mild detergent, not the abrasive side. When using a dishwasher, select a low-temperature program and the recommended amount of detergent. Ensure that the pieces do not touch each other and that steam can escape after the program has finished.
Avoid temperature shocks. To avoid friction when stacking, we recommend using intermediate layers (e.g. "Artedona" plate dividers).
Microwave:
Pieces without gold, silver or platinum decoration: microwave safe.
Pieces with gold, silver or platinum decoration: not suitable for microwave use due to high precious metal content.
