Hémisphère White by J.L Coquet

The "Hémisphère" collection is the hallmark product of the exclusive porcelain manufacturer J.L. Coquet from France. All of the plates belonging to this dinner service are distinguished by their broad, finely structured rims. The velvety surface structure has a beautiful feel to it. During the last production step, the plate rims receive a satin finish, which is applied with a brush and then fired at a high temperature.

About 20 different work steps are necessary to produce a piece for the Hémisphère collection. The French porcelain company JL Coquet still prepares the raw porcelain paste using traditional methods. The porcelain paste is stored for up to three months. This time is important to ensure that Coquet’s Limoges porcelain displays its distinctive shining white colour and incomparably delicate appearance. In 2010 the French government awarded Coquet the title of "Living Heritage Company" for its unique tradition of porcelain production.
