Artist Ruth Garvich started working on this porcelain by first shaping vases, bowls and plates out of handmade paper. These filigree models provided the basis for handcrafted porcelain objects, which perfectly mirror the folds, creases and tautness of the paper designs.
Nymphenburg supports an "aesthetic of imperfection" with the white "Lightscape" porcelain so that the paper look is promoted to a standard.
