The "Filets Cobalt" dinnerware is a new colour variation of the famous blue classic "Filets Bleu" by Gien. The enchanting shell shape of the dinner service of ecru-coloured faience is adorned with a hand-painted line in cobalt (intense blue). The delicate brush strokes applied by hand make each piece unique.
Faience is a fine, porous earthenware which is tin-glazed and then fired repeatedly. This technique dates back to the time of the Ancient Egyptians. It is a technique that has been used and perfected in a unique way by the Fayencerie de Gien (Gien Faience Factory) since 1821.
