"Thistle Gold" champagne coupe by Saint-Louis

Unbeatable luxury: The "Thistle Gold" glassware dates back to 1913 and is one of the most exclusive lines produced by the Cristallerie Saint-Louis. Its magnificent appearance has led to it being frequently chosen to decorate presidential dinner tables on official occasions. Every glass is mouthblown and hand-engraved. The elegant, fine gold pattern is painted with a small brush, then fired and polished with agate stone. The thistle with its sun-shaped petal head and prickly leaves provided the idea for the gold decoration and the artistic engraving on the "Thistle Gold" glassware.

Each glass is a masterpiece of expert craftsmanship and takes 25 days to make; ten glassblowers are needed to create the shape and 15 other glass specialists focus on the cutting, engraving and decoration.

It is recommended to clean by hand with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Place glasses on a paper towel, allow to drip dry, and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Do not put products with gold or platinum decorations in the dishwasher, do not use white vinegar and dry thoroughly; do not use abrasive materials, bleach, or rubber.

Clean carafes and pitchers with lukewarm water; do not allow wine to stand. To remove tannin or limescale deposits, use equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water. Place a paper towel in the neck to dry.

Pre-warm tea glasses and pre-chill ice buckets to avoid temperature shock.

Important note for candle holders: To avoid thermal shock, change the candle when the flame is 6cm away from the crystal. It is recommended to use a candle snuffer.
