The crystal-clear "Verdure" wine carafe from Artel is clad in a kind of tightly cut "lace dress". The pattern on the "Verdure" carafe was inspired by the imaginative wallpaper designs of Dagobert Peche, an Austrian artist regarded as a master of ornament. The glass blowers of the Prague-based manufactory Artel have very skilfully turned the pattern into a crystal artwork, which they have drawn up to the neck of the bottle. This makes it appear particularly delicate.
So that the carafe can also show its Haute Couture dress when wine is being poured, the base is slightly raised within the carafe. That makes it easier to hold serve with one hand.
