The inspiration for the small "Roses" bowl from Daum must have come on a dewy summer morning in an English garden just as the roses were opening up very hesitantly towards the sun. Leaves form the rounded vessel of the "Roses" bowl from Daum, whilst rose buds and blossoms create the crowning rim. Their colour is like an Impressionist painting, with splashes of delicate rosé, white hues and greenish-yellow.
Even the formal design of the "Roses" vase from Daum is emotive: sometimes very naturalistic, for example in the structure of the rose petals, sometimes only vaguely implicative. It is much more of a sculpture than "just" a vase.
Even for its relatively small size, the "Roses" bowl from Daum, with its diameter of 14cm, awakens a feeling of the said summer morning. Each little bowl is handcrafted in the manufactory of Daum in France from the exceptional Daum crystal glass paste (pâte de verre) and is thus quite unique.
