Sarkis, a French artist of Armenian origin, designed this beautiful "Kintsugi" dinnerware collection for the French porcelain manufacturer Bernardaud.
"I am fascinated by a 16th-century Japanese technique known as Kintsugi. The idea is to make visible repairs on fired ceramic using a mix of lacquer and gold, which increases the esthetic value. In the workshops in Limoges, I worked like a calligrapher, highly concentrated, and did all the pieces in the same sitting. Inspiration struck like lightning."
The "Kintsugi" dinnerware by Bernardaud brings the grace of simple luxury to everyday life. It is made of finest Limoges porcelain and refined with gold.

Cleaning:
You can clean your porcelain by hand using a soft sponge and mild dishwashing liquid. However, be careful not to use the abrasive side of the sponge, as it may scratch or damage the surface of the decorations, especially gold or platinum.
Your porcelain is also perfectly safe for the dishwasher. Choose a low-temperature cycle and do not exceed the recommended amount of detergent. If you do not wash the porcelain immediately (by hand or in the dishwasher), we recommend rinsing it with warm water. Make sure that the pieces do not touch each other in the dishwasher.
Microwave:
Pieces without gold, silver, or platinum decoration: microwave safe.
Pieces with gold, silver, or platinum decoration: not suitable for the microwave, as Bernardaud uses a high percentage of precious metals in these designs.
