Tortoise by Nymphenburg

American designer Ted Muehling created this exceptional "Tortoise" series for Nymphenburg. Since his childhood, the designer has been fascinated by tortoises, which he describes as survivors of a past time. With "Tortoise", he has devoted an entire collection to these lovely creatures. Like all his creations, the artistic effect takes centre stage: Muehling has reduced and abstracted the natural form of a tortoise shell and transformed it into expressive shapes.

With "Tortoise" from the porcelain manufacturer Nymphenburg, the renowned designer has again managed to capture the play on light and shadow in the unique transparency of the Nymphenburg porcelain which is handcrafted step by step. The "Tortoise" series from Nymphenburg comprises a series of vases, a decorative bowl, a bonbonniere as well as two different drinking vessels. All the pieces are made of razor-thin bisque porcelain, matt on the outside and glazed inside.
