The wild panther by Daum bears the name of its artist "Richard Orlinski". The appearance of the roaring big cat is very successful and impressive. The light reflections, which result from the facet-like cut, underline the elegant impression of the 22 kg heavy sculpture (L 73 cm). The exceptional quality of the Daum sculpture is also evident in the limited number of 99 copies each.
The Frenchman Richard Orlinski, born in Paris in 1966, has been working as an artist since 2004. His works are summarized under the term "Born Wild". Wild animals are depicted in striking poses and bold colours and shapes. His art is modern and timeless.
The manufacturing process of the Daum panther is very complex. Each sculpture is made of a single crystal glass paste. This paste consists of a very difficult mixture of crystal and lead granules. The crystal glass mass can be processed differently than usual in crystal glass production. It melts like wax under the hands of the Daum glass art masters, so that objects of extraordinary shape are created. But there is also another advantage of the Daum crystal recipe: It allows to create objects of extraordinary dimensions and special attention to detail.
Small air bubbles enclosed in the glass are possible and are a sign of the special manufacturing process.
