This Japanese vase "Pivoines Bleues" is a wonderful collector’s pieces from Gien. The hand-painted peony motif in blue hues look very impressive on the attractively curved 48cm-high vase. The vase belongs to the Gien Prestige pieces. Gien Prestige stands for hand-painted faiences. Each vase bears the initials of the painter on the base. The production for the Japanese vase "Pivoines Bleues" is limited to 200 pieces.

"Pivoines" from Gien was first produced in 1875 and its motif and colours take their inspiration from Japanese porcelain art. The peony rose motif is one of Gien’s most well-known motifs.
