Each piece from the "Vincennes Gold" collection is hand painted after firing. The gold adornment makes this decorative vase from Gien a popular collectors’ piece. After completion of the motif, the surface of the vase is highly polished. This is what produces the beautiful sheen.

The "Vincennes Gien" vase is 26cm tall and is part of the Gien Prestige collection. Faience is a fine, porous earthenware which is tin-glazed and then fired repeatedly. The sophisticated refinement of the resulting faience is what distinguishes it from other kinds of ceramic.
