About this product range

A silverplated tray available in two sizes – each with representative handles in the classical fashion. The "Malmaison" tray from Christofle guarantees an impressive appearance every time: whether it is laden with the main menu, with the dessert or with elegant Champagne flutes.

In fact, "Malmaison" means bad house and is the name of the former private residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and his first wife Joséphine de Beauharnais – though they only moved in after it had been extensively renovated.
The name of Christofle’s silver-coated "Malmaison" series is not so much a reference to the run-down state of the country residence as, rather, to the epoch of the French Empire Style at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
Some characteristic features of this period, such as stylised palm leaves and lotus flowers, as well as the famous palm-leaf bordure made up of the tips of palm branches, are also to be found on Christofle’s silverplated "Malmaison" tray with handles.
