"Jean Cocteau" espresso cups by Raynaud

Surrealist porcelain poetry. The espresso cups from the "Jean Cocteau" collection by Raynaud cleverly play with the words of the French universal artist. The saucers are inscribed with quotes from the poet in mirror writing, which are legibly reflected in the platinum-coated cups.

Raynaud is presenting a porcelain dinnerware directly inspired by the works created by Jean Cocteau in the 1950s. Jean Cocteau (1889 - 1963) was a French poet, illustrator, painter, playwright and film-maker, and was one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
French manufacturer Raynaud is reinterpreting the motifs of the original plates and using them on fine Limoges porcelain. The result is an elegant collection, based on the matt pastel backgrounds with subtle hues so dear to Cocteau, which contrast with the fine lines of the motifs.
