The design for the silverplated "America" cutlery from Christofle dates back to 1933. The cutlery in Art Deco style displays the angled corners and tapered edges typical of the architectural style of the 1930s.

After the First World War, in the 1920s, America became a country whose music, literature and lifestyle was synonymous with modernity. It influenced the rest of the world with its literary and cultural achievements. In recognition of this influence, Christofle has called this Art Deco-style cutlery "America".
