Glamorous comeback: Theodor Berking, the silversmith and third-generation owner of the family firm, designed "Art Deco" in 1929. It is a cutlery line of classic beauty which still adorns dining tables to this day, and it is a prime example of the timeless quality of stylish masterpieces. Silverplated cutlery by Robbe & Berking is manufactured using 150g silver. This robust silver plate is particularly resistant and is completely dishwashable.

The cutlery pictured here is silverplated. "Art Deco" in (925) sterling silver can be viewed at the bottom of the page.

Robbe & Berking cutlery is dishwasher safe. Avoid using detergents containing citric acid and use dishwasher additives that are designed for use with dishwashers. Open the dishwasher immediately after the wash cycle has finished.

Important: Before first use and after each cleaning with a silver cleaning cloth and/or silver polish, the silver must be cleaned by hand with dishwashing liquid.

For hand washing, use a soft cloth or brush to avoid scratches.

However, due to the natural sulphur content in the air, this precious natural material will tarnish after a certain period of time. Slight discolouration can be removed with silver gloves or a silver cleaning cloth, while more severe discolouration can be removed with silver polish.

Avoid contact with eggs, citrus fruits and vinegar. Silver baths, bleach, aluminium foil and salt should not be used to clean silver.
