The silverplated "Fiddle" cutlery is an absolute classic in Robbe & Berking’s collection. Its timeless look dates back to a design that was conceived in the company’s founding years. The "Fiddle" cutlery bears a very close resemblance to Robbe & Berking’s "Old Fiddle" collection. The spade shape and the so-called "ears" beneath the bowl of the fork and spoon are not as pronounced in "Fiddle" as they are in "Old Fiddle".
The exceptional skill of the silversmith is seen in the "Fiddle" cutlery from Robbe & Berking in the expressive shape of the "ears" below the bowl. The "spade ears" of this design demand a high level of skilled craftsmanship not possible with an automated grinding process. Consequently, all the work has to be done by hand.
Robbe & Berking’s silverplated cutlery is generally produced using 150g solid silver plate. This strong silver plate is durable and can be put in the dishwasher. The Sterling silver version of the "Fiddle" cutlery is shown below this table.

Robbe & Berking cutlery is dishwasher safe. Avoid using detergents containing citric acid and use dishwasher additives that are designed for use with dishwashers. Open the dishwasher immediately after the wash cycle has finished.
Important: Before first use and after each cleaning with a silver cleaning cloth and/or silver polish, the silver must be cleaned by hand with dishwashing liquid.
For hand washing, use a soft cloth or brush to avoid scratches.
However, due to the natural sulphur content in the air, this precious natural material will tarnish after a certain period of time. Slight discolouration can be removed with silver gloves or a silver cleaning cloth, while more severe discolouration can be removed with silver polish.
Avoid contact with eggs, citrus fruits and vinegar. Silver baths, bleach, aluminium foil and salt should not be used to clean silver.
