To mark the company’s 140th anniversary in 2014, silver experts Robbe & Berking decided to revamp one of their oldest and most attractive designs with the "Hermitage" silverplated cutlery. The elegant, shimmering effect on the handles was inspired by the movement of the waves and is attained with the so-called "hammered finish". The silversmith uses his hammer to create this appearance on each piece, thus ensuring that it is completely unique. The soft curves on the surface reflect the light many times over. Gracefully engraved motifs round off the exceptional design of the "Hermitage" cutlery from Robbe & Berking.
All of Robbe & Berking’s silverplated cutlery bears the "150" hallmark of high-quality silver plating. This solid silver plating is extremely durable so there is no problem putting the cutlery in the dishwasher.

Robbe & Berking cutlery is dishwasher safe. Avoid using detergents containing citric acid and use dishwasher additives that are designed for use with dishwashers. Open the dishwasher immediately after the wash cycle has finished.
Important: Before first use and after each cleaning with a silver cleaning cloth and/or silver polish, the silver must be cleaned by hand with dishwashing liquid.
For hand washing, use a soft cloth or brush to avoid scratches.
However, due to the natural sulphur content in the air, this precious natural material will tarnish after a certain period of time. Slight discolouration can be removed with silver gloves or a silver cleaning cloth, while more severe discolouration can be removed with silver polish.
Avoid contact with eggs, citrus fruits and vinegar. Silver baths, bleach, aluminium foil and salt should not be used to clean silver.
