Blue Fluted Mega by Royal Copenhagen

The "Blue Fluted Mega" dinner service by Royal Copenhagen is a tribute to a design that is one of the most famous and widespread in the history of porcelain. The "Blue Fluted" decor dates back to the 18th century and was the first pattern to be produced by the Danish porcelain manufacturer Royal Copenhagen in 1775.

In 2000, the designer Karen Kjaeldgard-Larsen reinterpreted the legendary original pattern with great respect for the porcelain manufactory's tradition of craftsmanship: the flower decorations, which are still hand-painted today, were greatly enlarged and reproduced in fragments. The result is the "Blue Fluted Mega", a dinner service which beautifully unites traditional and modern design and makes many interesting combinations possible, for example with the "Blue Fluted Plain" and "White Fluted" pocelaine lines.
