Extremely skilled craftsmanship is demanded to make these wafer-thin vases and almost transparent votive candle holders of bisque porcelain. Designer Ted Muehling perforates the pear-shaped cylinder with numerous tiny holes, so that the candlelight shines through with different degrees of intensity.
