"Mer de Corail" shells by Daum

Like shells on the beach, you will want to pick up and hold theses sea beauties by Daum. With the "Mer de Corail" collection the Maison Daum is exploring the depths of the Mediterranean Sea celebrating the infinite treasures of the underwater world and its aesthetics.

Each "Mer de Corail" shell is crafted by hand at the French manufactory Daum using a single crystal glass paste (pâte de verre) and is thus absolutely unique. Crystal-glass paste is made of a complex blend of crystal and lead granulate. The mixture can be kneaded like wax in the hands of the skilled glass artists. The result is exceptional shapes, a wonderful interplay of colours and contours that flow into one another. Little air bubbles captured in the glass are evidence of this special manufacturing process.
