Crystal poetry from the Caribbean Sea. The "Maya Seashell" vase by Daum captures the beauty of the sea in every detail. Made from pure Pâte de Cristal using the elaborate lost wax process, the flowing shapes of the sculptural vase are full of life and movement. The vase is limited to 225 pieces.
Powerful waves come together dynamically as if by chance to form an imaginative shell shape. A colour gradient from dark blue to white gives the vase the appearance of being made of crystalised seawater. Six mother-of-pearl roundels decorate the front and shine like the white beach in the sun. The wide opening and rounded, asymmetrical shape of the vase is ideal for presenting large flower arrangements.
For the Maya collection, Atelier Daum was inspired by the underwater worlds of the Riviera Maya, a popular holiday region on the Caribbean coast in south-east Mexico. The collection transforms ordinary underwater scenes into extraordinary compositions made from everlasting Pate de Cristal. Exquisitely fluid, dynamic, and detailed, the collection reflects the incredible creativity and craftsmanship that Daum has been cultivating for over a century.
Daum is the master manufactory for objects made of Pâte de Cristal. Since its founding in 1878, the French Maison has immortalised designs from over 350 renowned artists and designers in Pâte de Cristal. This unique material allows for incredibly detailed sculptures in a virtually limitless palette of vibrant colours. A pioneer of Art Nouveau, Daum remains true to its three basic themes: flora, fauna and feminine beauty. Discover the poetic brilliance of Daum's crystal worlds.
