This "Tommy" footed cup from Saint-Louis presents desserts in real style. Enthroned on a filigree foot is a broad, wonderfully cut crystal glass vessel. Four of the cutting techniques, for which Saint-Louis is so famous, have been used here: the star cut under the foot as well as the facet, lens and diamond cuts. The little dish can be used in a wide variety of ways, not just for a dessert or an ice-cream but also as a glass for serving sparkling aperitifs.
As part of the renowned "Tommy" collection, the little footed cup is made at the traditional French manufacturer Saint-Louis, and is mouth blown and cut by hand. The "Tommy" series from Saint-Louis made its historical "coming out" during a dinner which took place in Versailles in 1928. On the occasion of a visit by King George VI, each guest in the mirrored dining room of Versailles Palace sat down at a place-setting which included eleven glasses from the "Tommy" glassware. The illustrious guests were delighted.
