The return of luxury: period furniture is back in fashion and tables are again being laid for dinner parties in Louis XV style. Perfectly in tune with this trend is the silverplated "Marly" cutlery from Christofle, based on a design from 1890. The model is named after Marly Castle, located near Paris, a summer hunting residence built for Louis XIV. "Marly" is the most richly ornamented model in the Christofle collection. The fine chasing of the plant decoration is typical of the Rocaille style which developed under Louis XV and emphasises the richness and refinement of dining "à la française".
The cutlery pictured here is silverplated. "Marly" in (925) sterling silver can be found below the table.
