Porcelain decorated with gold is more jewel than utensil. It does not matter if the porcelain object is only partially or even completely refined with gold. Just like elegant jewellery, gold ornamentation enhances the appearance of plates, dishes or cups. Gilt patterns shine out again a white background – and gold highlights relief structures as it does original designs. No wonder that J.L Coquet, Hering Berlin, Sieger by Fürstenberg and other manufacturers like to refine their porcelain with this precious metal. They use only 24-carat gold, which is applied by hand – and the result: unique jewels for the table.
