The French brand Porthault was founded in 1920 by Madeleine and Daniel Porthault. In Paris during the 1920s the company founders Madeleine and Daniel Porthault were the first to offer colourful bed linen. It revolutionised the world of bed linen, since until then everybody used standard white bed linen. International stars like Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve and Coco Chanel were among the early enthusiasts of Porthault bed linen. The high-quality table linen collections of the French textile company soon earned equal acclaim.
