About Excess by Saint-Louis
Any bigger perhaps? The glasses from the “Excess” collection from Saint-Louis are prominent in all senses. The French specialist for crystal glass allows a height of up to 27 centimetres for these goblets. Thus, the most audacious examples of the “Excess” glasses look down on most other tableware. They are justified in doing so, too. Designer Hervé van der Straeten, who created international furore with his bronze furniture in fresh, playful shapes, gave "Excess" a proud tulip form, which rests on stems with sharply cut prisms that look like diamonds.
The water and red wine glasses as well as the Champagne flutes line up with the carafes and water jugs. Yet, van der Straeten can also be more down-to-earth. The “Excess” range from Saint-Louis also includes decorative paperweights, trendy tea light holders as well as a very resistant hurricane lamp. All of them are mouth-blown and cut by hand.
