A Modern Vision of Nature – The Organic Design of Folia
An inspiration from nature. Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance found the inspiration for the "Folia" collection in 2017 in the dense forests of the Northern Vosges, which separate the village of Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche from the rest of the world. The designer's vision captures the magic of this remote site: quiet, concentrated, and deeply rooted in centuries of tradition and history.
The decor of the Folia collection is composed of many simple leaf-shaped cuts. Following the curves of the crystal, the distance between the cuts contracts and expands in organic geometry. On the collection's stemware, the cuts even continue to the base of the stem. Cutting this part of the crystal is a technical challenge, as the material needs to be a certain thickness to not break during the process.
However, the magic of the collection is only revealed in the light. Like the swaying treetops of ancient trees, the cut pattern casts a dancing leaf pattern of light and shadow on its surroundings. When you lift the glasses to your lips, you have the feeling of drinking pure light. With "Folia", you can experience the brilliance of crystal in unrivalled vibrancy.

The Folia votives combine brilliant crystal glass with warm ash wood. Their tall shades made of cut crystal sit on round bases made of dark or light-coloured ash wood, making the soft candlelight within dance through the room.
